The source protection plan in effect for the Halton-Hamilton Source Protection Region is under review. The first step in the process is the preparation of a work plan. A Minister's order requires that our work plan be submitted to the province by November 30, 2018. As such, we're seeking feedback on sections/items within the source protection plan, assessment reports and explanatory document that will require an update to make them current and enhance protection of municipal drinking water systems. We will include changes to water systems and land uses due to development, and incorporate program changes, changes to prescribed threats, changes to assessment methodologies, and changes to regulations, standards and best practices.
Please give us your ideas for consideration for inclusion in the work plan and review. Thanks for helping to protect sources of our drinking water for current and future generations.
