The Halton-Hamilton Source Protection Committee was established in accordance with the Clean Water Act, 2006. The role of the Committee is to guide the review and updating of the source protection plan using a science-based approach and consider relevant information. The Committee is comprised of nine members and the Chair. The members act as liaisons for their sectors, and regularly attend committee and public meetings.

This year, we commemorate 20 years since the Walkerton drinking water tragedy happened in Ontario. Through the Clean Water Act and other legislation, vast improvements have been made in protecting drinking water in Ontario, and our work continues.
